Portrait of Max Rosen surrounded by hand-drawn stars

Max Rosen is a New York artist who explores the human condition through drawing, printmaking, sculpture, and typography.

At the heart of his work is Defective Characters, an evolving series in which letters become expressive portraits of emotion, contradiction, and imperfection.

What began as an alphabet has continued to evolve through original drawings, limited-edition prints, and sculpture.

Rosen is represented by Philippe Labaune Gallery and PICTO NY, and has exhibited at both.

An impression from the Defective Characters lithograph edition is held in the permanent collection of the Museum of Graffiti in Miami.

A portion of the proceeds helps fund art classes at Achievement First Charter Public Schools. Please ask for details.
